| Dr. Kulkarni’s contributions stand summarized in the form of 3 books , 4 edited books and over 170 peer reviews and invited papers. He is credited with many novel concepts which include: · A new rate Law model called “ Encillator ’’ - a model reaction system involving exponential autocatalysis to explain the variety of reaction behaviour; · an arithmetic-analytical approach to solutions of model equations - a novel approach that combines the elegance of analytical solutions and rigour of digital computations; · Rigorous fluidised bed reactor model using initial value formalism; · Multiplicity and instability of chemical reactions and reactors; · Bifurcation and stability of chemical reactions and reactors: Development of normal form theory; · New techniques of model building from measured data - Surrogate analysis, phase space reconstruction, wavelets, proper orthogonal decomposition and stochastic estimation; · Cleaning and separation of measured signal without any a-priori information; · Formulation of exact functional form from measured data; · Microemulsions (synthesis of manoparticles, electrochemical reactions and organic biotransformation etc. Several Indian and US patents and publications); · Optimisation and control of unknown systems (Artificial Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm ) ; etc. He has been awarded with the following distinctions: · Best Scientist of the Year by NCL Research Foundation, · Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy by the Indian National Science Academy ( N.S.A.), · the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar prize for Science & Technology : Engineering Science & Technology by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research ( CSIR ), etc. We are honoured to feature this outstanding scientist in this gallery of Achievers. |
